Every year we wait for our sunny and always radiant friend – the Summer. We certainly do enjoy the winters and the springs, but who doesn’t look forward to sipping mocktails and relaxing by the sea? Or visiting the snowy mountains in the summers? We make sure that our summers are relaxing and that we enjoy the vacation with our friends and family. But 2020 was different. The pandemic hit 2020 and we were all stuck at home, quarantined. Although most of us were relaxing at our home, it was no fun to be stuck inside the four walls of the house. But 2021 has come with a ray of hope and the world is slowly getting back to normal. People have gotten back to work and seem to be out and about having fun. It is the perfect time to plan a summer vacation with your family and friends. It’s been far too long since our last summer vacation and it is reason enough to plan a trip.
The steady rollout of vaccines and the new emerging variants of the coronavirus isn’t helping in clearing the picture of what is safe and what is not. Anyway, people are still planning their summer trips. Here are a few tips, from booking a railway ticket to the hotel, to consider if you’re planning a summer vacation too, and to be as safe as possible.
Get the vaccination – The covid vaccine has slowly started to roll out. Right now, only the senior citizens have been able to get the vaccines. But soon, it is expected to be available readily for all the people. This will help us be in a better state for a vacation towards the end of summer. Many countries also require a vaccination report from international travelers and hence it is really important to get vaccinated to be safe.
Choose the mode of transport – Now that all travel options are back to normal including trains, flights, buses, etc, you can choose the right one according to your comfort and destination. One can easily book a train ticket through irctc booking or buy a cheap airline tickets online. Road trips by our own vehicles still remain the safest compared to flights or any other forms of transportation. It is important to take precautions – wear masks, keep things sanitized, limit activities to well-ventilated areas or outdoors, etc.
Stay domestic – The number of covid cases keeps fluctuating every now and then and so it is important to stay close to home. It is advisable to not take very long trips right now. The rules and regulations keep changing. It is important to keep a check with the local, state, and national guidelines regarding covid and tourism. A local trip, not very far from home, is the safest option in such situations.
Plan in advance – Planning in advance is important so you have more control over the situation and allows us to feel safe. Advanced planning and booking can come with a bunch of advantages. One can get access to cheap hotels with various discounts and offers on bookings in advance. Also, look for places that allow flexibility regarding booking and cancellation as these times are unpredictable and things can turn around at any moment. Maybe also consider getting travel insurance coverage.
This year again might not be the best time to tick off the wildest destinations from your bucket list. But we can use this time to reconnect with people we missed while social distancing and enjoy the summers with loved ones.
